Department Overview

This department was established in the second semester of 2013 with the aim of cultivating competent educators specializing in Korean language education. Since then, it has produced numerous Korean language instructors who are currently working in various institutions both in Korea and abroad.

Educational Objectives

The department aims to nurture highly qualified Korean language educators who possess both intellectual competence and strong character, enabling them to lead in a globalized and multicultural society.

Educational Features

By providing both theoretical knowledge and practical training in Korean language education, the program enhances students’ ability to adapt effectively to real teaching environments. In response to ongoing social changes, the department is also developing methods for delivering non-face-to-face (online) instruction.

Career Opportunities After Graduation

  • Domestic:
    • Multicultural centers; instructors for students from multicultural families in elementary, middle, and high schools; Korean language instructors at foreign worker support centers; instructors at university-affiliated Korean language institutes
  • International:
    • Dispatched instructors to King Sejong Institutes; full-time lecturers in Korean language departments at overseas universities (e.g., Thailand, Vietnam, China); instructors at overseas Korean language centers; participation in KOICA programs
